Vijender becomes father again, blessed with baby boy

New Delhi, May 14 (IANS) Boxer-turned-politician Vijender Singh, contesting the South Delhi Lok Sabha seat as the Congress nominee, on Tuesday announced birth of his second child. "And its a baby boy," Vijender tweeted.
The boxer, who turned professional in 2015, got married to Archana in 2011. Their first son, Abir, was born in 2013.
In South Delhi constituency, he is taking on Raghav Chadha of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and Ramesh Bidhuri of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). The constituency went to the polls on May 12.
Vijender has a 10-0 record in his professional career and holds the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight and WBO Oriental Super Middleweight belts.
Prior to turning professional, Vijender was a prominent name in the amateur boxing circuit for a decade. In 2008, he became the first Indian boxer to win an Olympic medal.
Subsequently, in 2009 he won the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award -- India's highest sporting honour. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2010. The same year, he won gold at the Asian Games in Guangzhou.
Vijender has also won two silvers and a bronze at the Commonwealth Games.
