Onkar is new Secretary General of Asian cycling body

New Delhi March 4 (IANS) Cycling Federation of India (CFI) Secretary General Onkar Singh has been elected as the new Secretary General of Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) while CFI President Parminder Singh Dheendsa was elected as Vice President in the ACC Congress in Bahrain.

Onkar who became Secretary General of Cycling Federation of India in 2011 on Friday took over from Boo Woong Choi according to a release.

He s promoted cycling in India and marketed it across the globe by organising Track Asia Cup and the recent 37th Asian Track Cycling Championships held at New Delhi.

Meanwhile Sheikh Osama Ahmad Al Shafar from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) became the new president of ACC taking over from Hee Wook Cho of Korea.
