India in strong position in 2nd Test (Tea Report)

Bengaluru March 7 (IANS) India rode on a superb bowling performance to put themselves in a strong position to win the ongoing second cricket Test against Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here on Tuesday.

Chasing a target of 188 runs Australia were in deep trouble struggling at 101/6 at tea on the fourth day.

Peter Handscomb was batting on 19 when the teams went in at the break.

The Indians bowled superbly on a pitch which has developed quite a few cracks making it difficult for batting.

Star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin did the most damage with figures of 3/35. Fast bowler Umesh Yadav displayed excellent speed and swing to return 2/26. Ishant Sharma bagged 1/28.
