Maradona to be new ambassador of Chinese Super League

Buenos Aires March 9 (IANS) Argentina football legend Diego Maradona announced on Thursday that he will be the new ambassador of the Chinese Super League (CSL).

On his Instagram account Maradona said: Thank you very much Ms. Tang Qinghui for this opportunity you are giving me to work in China I will be eternally grateful!

The Argentine wrote this caption in Spanish Italian and English and attached a photo of himself posing with his spokeswoman Tang Qinghui in China standing in front of a picture where he is carrying the 1986 World Cup trophy reports Efe.

Maradona s lawyer Matias Morla confirmed that his client has signed a contract to promote Chinese soccer.

This announcement comes after Maradona recently stated that he will be working with FIFA to achieve a clean and transparent organisation to govern international soccer.
