No handshakes, no talking: K-League to resume from May 8

Incheon, May 6 (IANS) South Korea's K-League is set to resume from May 8, two months after the football season was halted abruptly in the wake of coronavirus pandemic.Several norms have been put in place for players and officials to follow as precautionary measures against the spread of virus.According to a report in the Daily Mail, players aren't allowed to go for the customary pre-match handshake with the opposition. They have also been warned against spitting on the field. The players can't talk to each other on the pitch while the coaches have been asked to wear masks in the dug-out. This apart from the fact that matches will be played in front of empty stands."Things like not spitting during the game we can do, but not talking to teammates is impossible," Incheon United captain Kim Do-hyeok was quoted as saying by the Daily Mail."It would be great to play in front of fans, but if we all play our part in stopping the spread of the virus then they will soon be back in their seats."The first match after the enforced break will be played between Jeonbuk Motors and Suwon Bluewings on Friday.
