Kasprowicz steps down as CA's non-executive director

Wednesday - July 22, 2020 7:09 pm , Category : SPORTS
Melbourne, July 22 (IANS) Former Australia fast bowler Michael Kasprowicz stepped down from his position as non-executive director, Cricket Australia (CA) announced on Wednesday.
Kasprowicz's resignation comes just weeks after former CA chief executive Kevin Roberts exited the organisation under unceremonious circumstances.
"As I did on the field, I believe I have given absolutely everything to this position and over the years have enjoyed the opportunity to represent every stakeholder of cricket in this country," Kasprowicz was quoted as saying in the statement released by CA.
"The experience has been an honour and an absolute privilege, but now is the right time for me to step down," he added.
According to a report published in Sydney Morning Herald, Kasprowicz walked away from the role citing lack of leadership in the Australian cricket board.
"Michael has been a servant of Australian Cricket as a former International player, ACA President, Interim CEO of Queensland Cricket and a member of the Board for eight years," CA chairman Earl Eddings as quoted as saying in the statement.
"He is a long-standing member of the cricket family and we thank him for his contribution," he added.
