Zverev beats Almagro in Barcelona Open 2nd round
Barcelona April 25 (IANS) German tennis player Alexander Zverev entered the third round of the Barcelona Open after defeating Spain s Nicolas Almagro here on Tuesday.
World No.21 Zverev took two hours and 26 minutes to defeat world No. 57 Almagro 7-6 (7-4) 4-6 6-4 reports Efe.
Germany s promising talent Zverev will play the third round against the winner of the match between South Korea s Chung Hyeon and German Philipp Kohlschreiber.
Zverev seeded eighth in the tournament was eliminated a few days ago from the Monte-Carlo Masters against world number five Spaniard Rafael Nadal who ended up winning the tournament.
