Vasco da Gama close to signing Brazil under-23 midfielder
Rio de Janeiro May 2 (IANS) Vasco da Gama are close to signing Brazil under-23 midfielder Bruno Paulista from Sporting Lisbon.
The 21-year-old has made just four first-team appearances for the Portuguese club since his 2015 move from Brazilian top flight outfit Bahia reports Xinhua news agency
Brazilian newspaper Gazetta Esportiva said officials from Sporting and Vasco have been negotiating a transfer since January.
Bruno was a part of the Brazil under-23 team that claimed bronze at the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto Canada.
Sporting Lisbon are currently third in Portugal s Primeira Liga standings eight points behind leaders Benfica with three matches left in the season.
