Brazilian striker on Sevilla radar

Rio de Janeiro May 2 (IANS) Internazionale s Brazilian striker Gabriel Barbosa could join Sevilla on loan during the upcoming European summer transfer window.

Barbosa has made just eight appearances and scored one goal since his move to the San Siro from Santos last August reports Xinhua news agency.

Sevilla are ahead of a host of other European clubs hoping to secure a 12-month loan deal for the 20-year-old according to Brazilian newspaper Lance on Monday.

Capped four times for Brazil s senior national team Barbosa was a member of his country s gold medal-winning football team at last year s Rio Olympics.

Sevilla are currently fourth in Spain s La Liga standings 13 points behind leaders Barcelona with four matches remaining in the season.
