Six held in Delhi for online betting in IPL

New Delhi May 11 (IANS) Six persons including a B.Tech graduate were arrested on charge of betting Rs 1 crore online for an IPL cricket match police said on Thursday.

Mukesh Kumar 56 Manmohan Krishan 38 Vinod Kumar 32 Manish Kumar 28 Naveen Kumar 28 and Keshav 28 were arrested on late Tuesday night from a flat in Vishwas Nagar in east Delhi following a tip-off.

They have been booked under the Public Gambling Act Deputy Commissioner of Police Nupur Prasad said.

During questioning it was found that flat owner Manmohan was into online betting while Naveen and Manish helped him. The three had come there to place bets on an Indian Premier League match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Kings XI Punjab Prasad said.
