Neuer says he feels 100 percent fit now

Munich Aug 2 (IANS) Since being injured against Real Madrid in the UEFA Champions League last season Bayern Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer says he running "at 100 percent" for the first time.

"It was a great day for me. Today I was able to run at 100 percent for the first time. It was an initial test we focused on the little things and I came through them all well " Neuer 31 told Bayern s official website on Wednesday.

"Naturally I m hoping to return to the team as soon as possible."

The highly rated shot stopper recovered from a broken metatarsal suffered during the quarter-final defeat at the Bernabeu.

Bayern will open their German Bundesliga season with a home game against Leverkusen on August 18.

Second choice custodian Sven Ulreich played in the Audi Cup defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday.
