CBI FILES TWO CHARGESHEETS IN SEPARATE CASES RELATING TO VYAPAM

The Central Bureau of Investigation has filed chargesheet u/s 120B of IPC r/w 419, 420, 467, 468, 471 of IPC and 3/4 of MPRE Act against two accused (a candidate and his brother) in the Court of Special Magistrate for Vyapam cases at Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh).
CBI registered a case on the allegations of cheating by impersonation in Police Constable Recruitment Test – 2013 on the orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court and took over the investigation of the case which was earlier registered at Police Station Kampoo, Gwalior u/s 420 of IPC. The candidate was absconder in the records of MP Police at the time of taking over of case. During CBI investigation, the candidate was traced. The investigation revealed that the candidate in criminal conspiracy with his brother allegedly cheated the Vyapam by way of impersonation as his brother appeared in place of him in the written examination of Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2013.
In another case, CBI filed supplementary chargesheet u/s 120B of IPC and 3/4 of MPRE Act against an accused in the Court of Special Magistrate for Vyapam cases at Gwalior.
A case was registered by CBI on the allegations of cheating by using mobile phone in Police Constable Recruitment Test Examination 2013. CBI took over the investigation of said case on the orders of Hon'ble Supreme Court, which was earlier registered at Police station Janak Ganj, Gwalior (Madhya Pradesh) u/s 66 D of IT Act and section 3/4 of MPRE Act. The State Police had filed the chargesheet against two accused u/s 3/4 of MPRE Act. During CBI investigation, cogent evidence was collected and it was established that the accused in furtherance of criminal conspiracy with some unknown person had allegedly cheated Vyapam by using mobile phone during the Police Constable Recruitment Examination 2013. It was also found that other accused person was non existent. Accordingly, supplementary chargesheet was filed against one accused.
The public is reminded that the above findings are based on the investigation done by CBI and evidence collected by it. Under the Indian law, the accused are presumed to be innocent till their guilt is finally established after a fair trial.-WTN
