Scholarship Being Transferred to Students’ Bank Accounts at One Click

Scholarship of Rs. 500 Crore Approved for 82 Lakh Students
Bhopal : At one click 30 types of scholarships of 8 departments is being transferred directly in the bank accounts of class 1 to 12 students. School Education Department has been made Nodal department for this. Scholarship worth Rs. 500 crore has been sanctioned for around 82 lakh students of class 1 to 12 till now.
Samagra Shiksha portal has been developed with cooperation of National Information Center (N.I.C.) to sanction and distribute scholarship online to the students. After compiling data of registered students, scholarship has been made online as per the prescribed norms of various scholarship schemes.
By utilizing available data base at the portal, the scholarship beside amount of other government schemes like free cycles and laptop to the talented students is being transferred directly in students’ bank accounts.
Scholarship to 65 Lakh Students will be Transferred Today
Directives to make Direct Benefit transfer effective was issued by the Union Government. Scholarship distribution work will be undertaken on the day of Vidhyarthi Panchayat i.e. January 12. Around 65 lakh students will get scholarship amount directly in their bank accounts in a single day. The objective of Digital India and D.B.T. will be fulfilled by making arrangement of online scholarship. The scholarship amount will be transferred in the bank accounts of remaining students within 7 days held due to technical limitation. Entire information regarding scholarship sanction and distribution is available on the public domain of the Samagra Shiksha Portal. In case of non receipt of scholarship, students can find out the reason from the portal. Probably it is the first occasion in the country when a huge scholarship amount will be transferred to the bank accounts of such a large number of students. -WTN
