Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that it is must to honour good work. Simhastha Jyoti Medal distribution programme will be organized appropriately. Programmes will be held in all the districts in which the Minister in charge of the concerned district and Senior Officers of the Police headquarter will participate.
Chouhan was addressing the Simhastha Jyoti Medal and Rustam Ji Awards distribution programme at Police Lines here today. He emphasised a need to include subject related to dignity and respect of girls in the academic courses.
Home Minister Honours with Medal
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan also honoured Home Minter Bhupendra Singh with Simhastha Jyoti Medal. He praised his services rendered by him during the Simhastha. He said that Bhupendra Singh stationed at Ujjain making it as headquarter for 73 days for the effective implementation of arrangements. He has important contribution in the success of Simhastha. As per the recommendation of the Chief Minister, Singh was honoured with the meal in the programme itself.
CM Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh Police have set a remarkable example of commitment and service during the Simhastha-2016. The behaviour, language and perspective of police were remarkable. Appreciating the police management, pre-arrangements and crowd management, Chouhan said that wherever he goes in the country, whether it is eminent or common citizen all have praise for the police.
Referring to the difficult conditions under which police works, Chouhan said that Madhya Pradesh police have displayed best even in adverse conditions. Whatever work police was entrusted with, they have carried out successfully. The state which was affected with dacoits’ nuisance once upon a time has no listed gang today. Moreover mentioning about the jailbreak incident, he mentioned that promptness of police has eliminated the unpredictable threat. He further said that police works to establish the rule of the law. Wherever they find lawlessness, it should be rectified immediately. Deal with iron hand with criminals and treat common man politely.
Moreover, Chouhan mentioned that crime with women is not acceptable. Take stern action against the identified crimes. Rapists who undertake heinous crime with innocent girls should be hanged. He asked to carryout study and to obtain suggestions regarding legal provisions in this regard.
Chouhan emphasized on need for commitment to make state free from the stigma of addiction. He said that serious study is being conducted on arrangements in states where liquor is prohibited. Neither new liquor shop has been opened during the last four years nor liquor factory was allowed to establish in the state. There will be no liquor shops in the banks of River Narmada. Chouhan congratulated police personnel honoured with medals and awards beside Police Training College Indore for their achievements.
Minister for Home Bhupendra Singh said that Madhya Pradesh police has brought laurel to the state for conducting Simhastha successfully. Madhya Pradesh police has set a record by organizing Simhastha-2016. New environment of trust towards police has been created. The work of Madhya Pradesh Police is best in the country. Expressing gratitude towards the Chief Minister Chouhan for safeguarding the police, he said that the Chief Minister has always provided the budget for development of police as per the demand.
Director General Police Rishi Kumar Shukla presented the welcome speech. He said that more than 25 thousand police officers and employees have contributed for conducting a large progamme like Simhastha-2016 successfully. The officers and employees of the police as representatives of honoured employees are being honoured with Simhastha Jytoi Medals in the programme. He said that the award has been instituted in the memory of first Chief of Madhya Pradesh Police K.F. Rustam Ji. Also film ‘Khaki’ on the accomplishments and personality of K.F. Rustam Ji was exhibited on the occasion. The film has been produced by National Film Development Corporation on behalf of Madhya Pradesh police.
Chief Minister Chouhan honoured the Former Additional Chief Secretary Home and DGP and other Officers with the medals. Minister for Revenue Umashankar Gupta, Minister of State for Cooperatives (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang, Chief Secretary B.P. Singh and Former DGP Surendra Singh were present in the programme.
