Grand welcome to Yatra on 11th day in Dhar district

Bhopal: Member of Parliament Smt Savitri Thakur led Yatra holding Narmada Kalash on arrival of the 'Namami Devi Narmade' - Seva Yatra at Khalghat today. After Jan Samvad in village Sala, more than 5000 people took resolution for maintaining cleanliness in Narmada river. Women participated in the yatra with enthusiasm. Girls participated in the yatra while taking the Kalash and reciting 'Jai Narmada Maiyya'. The yatra was welcomed at Khalghat with fire works.

 In Jan-Samvad, Smt Savitri Thakur said that mother Narmada is our life line. As the river continue to flow, our state and life will be full of happiness. Smt Thakur said that fruit-bearing plants will be planted on both banks of the river for maintaining its flow. Water treatment plants will be set up on both the sides for curbing flow of waste water in the river. Toilets will be constructed in every house.
Smt Thakur said that mother Narmada can be made holy and clean by change in our daily routine. By keeping in mind the river in daily works, we can maintain its cleanliness. Mother Narmada has its reference in ancient scriptures and Puranas.

Protection of Narmada river is responsibility of all. That's why Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has started campaign for its rejuvenation and conservation. The Chief Minister's approach has made it a public movement. Yatra is now centre of discussion in the country. Intellectual and prominent persons of the country are participating in the Yatra.

 The Yatra will reach Balwara via Morgarhi after departure from Khalghat where Narmada Aarti and cultural programmes will be held. The Yatra will reach Khargone district on March 4 from Balwara.-WTN
