CM Chouhan Congratulates, Says She is Ambassador of Women Empowerment

Dindori’s Smt. Rekha Pandram will Deliver Speech on Women’s Status in New York

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan met Smt. Rekha Pandram, a resident of village Phalvahi- Mehadwani block of district Dindori here today. Smt. Pandram is leaving for United Nations Headquarter, New York to present her views on “Economic Condition of Women, Food Security and Role of Rural and Local Women in Nutrition Field” in 61st session of Commission formed on Women Status. She will represent India at the U.N.

Chief Minister Chouhan terming her as an icon of rural women empowerment honoured and extended best wishes to her. The session will held from March 13 to 24 in New York. Smt. Pandram will share her experience on the international platform about Food Security and empowerment of rural and native women for nutrition and strategy to bring changes by empowering women at ground level on March 15.

Chouhan said that Smt. Pandram is bringing fame to Madhya Pradesh and India presenting herself as an Ambassador of Women empowerment. He mentioned that all possible opportunities are being provided to the women and girls to move forward.

Who Is Smt. Rekha Pandram ?
Smt. Rekha Pandram started working on the post of Secretary of Self-Help Group Federation under the Tejasvini Rural Women Empowerment programme in 2013 in Mehadvani. This federation covers 24 gram panchayats and 41 villages, mostly Baiga, Goud and Kol tribal dwell in these places. Smt. Pandram has carried out a praiseworthy work on shortage of food production, food security, socio-economic development of women, health related issues and on nutrition of women and children. Her federation was also honoured with the prestigious Sitaram Rao Asia Pacific Livelihood Award. Smt. Pandram will also explain at the international platform that how she is conducting the activities of Tejasvini Rural Women Empowerment programme which is being run with the assistance of International Agriculture Development Fund Project at ground level.-WTN
