Rs.922 Crore released to States/UTs for construction of AWCs under MGNREGS during 2015-16 and 2016-17

New Delhi: An amount of Rs.1117.42 Crores was released to States/UTs in two installments for the construction of 44709 AWCs approved under APIP in 2013-14. Similarly, an amount of Rs. 33.91 Crores has also been released as first installment to States/UTs for the construction of 2362 AWCs approved under APIP in 2016-17(till 28.02.2017). 

Under MGNREGS, a total of 29941 AWC buildings were approved for construction in 2015-16 and another 59595 buildings were given funds for construction during 2016-17(till 28.02.2017). An amount of Rs. 182.64 Crores was released for construction of AWC buildings in 2015-16 while Rs.740.07 Crores was released for construction of AWC buildings in 2016-17 (till 28.02.2017). 

An amount of Rs.16267.48 Crores, Rs. 16581.81 Crores, Rs.15438.93 Crores and Rs. 12801.52 Crores released to States/UTs under ICDS Scheme for construction of AWC buildinds, SNP AND TRAINING for the year 2013-14, 2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-17 (upto 19.03.2017). 

The Ministry of Women and Child Development releases first installment (50%) for Construction of AWCs immediately after sanction of buildings in prescribed cost sharing ratio between State/UTs. Second instalment (balance of Central Assistance) for Construction of AWC buildings is released after receiving physical progress report and Utilisation certificate in respect of the funds released in first instalment. As and when utilisation certificate of first instalment is received second instalment is released.
