Provide additional facilities to people paying tax on time with honesty

Bhopal 16 September 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan issued directives that people paying tax on time with honesty should not only be honoured but additional facilities should also be extended to them from the government. Bhamashah award should be re-started. At the same time tax evasion should be strictly stopped, he added.

Chief Minister Chouhan instructed that unnecessary expenditure of different departments should be reduced and efforts be made to increase the revenue. Chief Minister Chouhan was presiding over the meeting of the high level committee of departments (Additional Resources Mobilization Committee), constituted to generate additional resources, at Mantralaya today. Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Additional Chief Secretaries Mohammad Suleman, I.C.P. Keshri and S.N. Mishra as well as Principal Secretaries Manoj Govil, Deepali Rastogi and Manish Rastogi were present at the meeting.

Integrate ‘E-Way Bill with ‘Fast Tag’
Chief Minister Chouhan instructed to integrate 'E-way Bill' with 'Fast Tag' and introduce fast tag facility on all toll points for full recovery of commercial tax. A time-bound programme should be prepared in this regard. One-time settlement scheme should also be worked out to recover the outstanding commercial tax.

Stop sale and manufacturing of illicit liquor

In order to increase excise income, the sale and manufacture of illicit liquor should be strictly stopped. The excise policy of other states, especially Andhra Pradesh model should be studied and its best practices be adopted. Chief Minister Chouhan gave clear instructions that there should be no interference at all in the traditions of tribals. Tax leakage should be prevented after computerization at liquor shops.

Integrate State Transport portal with ‘Motor Vehicle Portal’

Chief Minister Chouhan directed that the State Transport Portal should be integrated with the 'Motor Vehicle Portal' of the Central Government to increase revenue in the transport sector. Additional Chief Secretary Mishra informed that this work will be completed by the month of January.

Linking urban properties with 'Property-Registration Software'

As regard to the full recovery of property tax in urban areas, urban properties should be linked with 'Property Registration Software'. Rights of the Nuzul land in urban areas should be decided. In order to increase income from forests, degraded forests should be improved with private participation.

Reduce expenditure on construction works

A state level infrastructure development agency should be constituted to reduce the expenditure on government construction works, which should undertake infrastructure construction work of various departments. Also the construction works should be 'Fast tagged'.

Small clusters of land for industrial use

Small clusters of land should be created for industrial use around big cities like Bhopal and Indore. At the same time, the land of Bhopal and Indore should be notified for industrial use under 'MP Mega Investment Region Act'.

Low cost solar panel for homes

Solar panels should be installed on homes under 'Resco Model' to reduce the power rate. The electricity expenditure comes to Rs. 3.50 per unit under this model.

'Co-financing' and 'Blended financing'

Government projects in maximum should be prepared on the basis of 'Co-financing' and 'Blended financing' with the World Bank, A.D.B, A.I.I.B. etc., so that the funds is easily available for the projects – Window to News
