Bhopal 18 September 2020:  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited the Government Civil Hospital at Madhav Nagar in Ujjain on Friday and dedicated the newly constructed Covid-19 ICU unit and took stock of the arrangements.
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the newly constructed ICU unit will facilitate the treatment of Covid patients to a great extent. The public will also get a lot of convenience from this. He congratulated the entire team of doctors for being on duty and providing services throughout the Corona period. Chief Minister Chouhan said that our doctors are doing a very good job. They should continue to work with the same spirit. Surely we will be successful in overcoming the pandemic.

ICU construction at a cost of Rs 155.78 lakhs

Chief Medical and Health Officer Dr. Mahavir Khandelwal informed the Chief Minister that the National Health Mission has worked hard 24x7 to set up the ICU at Madhav Nagar Hospital in just 45 days keeping in mind the continuously rising number of Corona cases. The ICU unit with 20 beds and 10 ventilators which is fully equipped with state-of-the-art machines has been constructed at a cost of Rs. one crore 55 lakh 78 thousand. It also has oxygen and air valves. The flooring here is shockproof and a negative pressure valve is also installed in this ward, due to which Corona and other viruses are immediately absorbed by the valve and get stored in a container, which has reduced the chances of infection outside the ICU ward.

Doctors and training doctors will be on duty round the clock in this unit. Serious patients of Covid-19 will now be given treatment in Madhav Nagar Hospital with the newly constructed ICU and there will be no need to refer them elsewhere. There is also a plan to develop Madhav Nagar Hospital as a good Respiratory Center in the coming years after the Corona period.

Meanwhile, it was informed that 50 such ICU units are being set up by the National Health Mission in the entire state so that Covid-19 patients can get better treatment.

Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, MLA Paras Jain, Member of Parliament Anil Ferozia, Divisional Commissioner Anand Kumar Sharma, IG Rakesh Gupta, Collector Ashish Singh, Superintendent of Police Sushri Savita Sohane were present during the dedication of the ICU – Window to News
