CM Chouhan calls on PM Narendra Modi in New Delhi
Demands assistance amount of Rs 3646.41 crore from National Disaster Relief Fund 
 
Bhopal 29 September 2020:  Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan today called on Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the latter’s residence at 7, Lok Kalyan Marg, New Delhi. During the meeting which lasted for about half an hour, Chief Minister Chouhan informed Prime Minister Modi about the various schemes and works being implemented in the state and informed about the efforts being made by the state government to tackle Covid-19 pandemic. Chief Minister Chouhan also informed about the damage done to the crops of farmers due to excessive rainfall in the state. Chouhan urged Prime Minister Modi to provide an assistance of Rs. 3646.41 crore at the earliest to tackle this disaster from the National Disaster Relief Fund. He said that this assistance will help in compensating the farmers for the losses due to excessive rains and pest-diseases and farmers will be able to make preparations for the upcoming rabi crops.

Request for permission to incur Covid expenditure from State Disaster Response Fund

Chief Minister Chouhan urged Prime Minister Modi to allow expenditure of Rs 291.15 crore for the Covid-19 management with the amount of Rs 485.40 crore reserved for State Disaster Response Fund. Along with this, he also demanded permission to spend the remaining amount of Rs 193.09 crore on Covid management.

Information about agricultural bills and Gareeb Kalyan Saptah given

During the meeting, Chief Minister Chouhan presented the Prime Minister with a handbook on the action taken by the state government with regard to the recently passed agricultural bills by the Parliament. The Chief Minister gave detailed information about the various programmes including – Anna Utsav, Poshan Utsav, Kisan Utsav, Vanadhikar Utsav, Aajeevika Utsav, Saakh Utsav, Sambal Utsav and Pratibha Utsav organized by the state government during the Gareeb Kalyan Saptah in the state. Chouhan also informed Modi about the Mukhya Mantri Kisan Kalyan Yojana being run in the state. He informed that under this scheme, all the eligible beneficiary farmer families of Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi are being provided an amount of Rs. four thousand in two installments, Rs. two thousand per installment, directly in their accounts by the state government in one financial year – Window to News
