CM Chouhan holds meeting of Public Works Department
Bhopal 04 December 2020: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that “Asset Management System” will be implemented for better maintenance of roads in the state. Under this, online monitoring of the situation of roads in the state will be possible through Geo tagging. Chief Minister Chouhan said that roads should be continuously monitored and should be repaired before they get damaged. All roads in the state should be of high quality. As much as 45,717 km roads of the state are maintained by PWD and the maintenance of 18801 km roads is done by M.P.R.D.C.
Chief Minister Chouhan was reviewing the works of Public Works Department in Mantralaya today. Public Works Minister Gopal Bhargav, Minister of State of Public Works Department Suresh Dhakad, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Principal Secretary Manoj Govil, Principal Secretary Neeraj Mandloi etc. were present in the meeting.
Narmada Expressway should open the way to state’s prosperity
Chief Minister Chouhan instructed the officers to ensure development on Narmada Expressway being built in the state and both its sides in such a way that it opens the gateway to prosperity of the state. Industrial clusters, modern agriculture, horticulture areas should be developed on both sides of the road and other development activities should be ensured. The alignment of the 948 km Narmada Express-way to be built from Amarkantak to Alirajpur has been completed and work orders for pre-feasibility report have been issued.
Tender issued for Atal Progress-way
NHAI has issued tender for construction of Atal Progress-way for DPR. The agency for Industrial Development / Investment has been selected by the Department of Industries. As many as 149 villages and 3063 hectares (estimated) of land in Sheopur, Morena and Bhind districts will come under the Atal Progress-Way construction.
User fees on 25 routes
Action is being taken to impose toll on 25 routes of the state, from which the department will obtain an annual income of Rs 210 crore. Traffic survey of 200 routes of the state is being done through modern method, so that their quality can be enhanced. All toll plazas in the state will be automated (fast tagged).
Government buildings should be repaired regularly
Chief Minister Chouhan directed to ensure constant repair and maintenance of government buildings. The buildings must be whitewashed once in every two years. Residential buildings should also be maintained regularly.
95 R.O.Bs will be constructed
A total of 95 railway over bridges will be sanctioned for high traffic routes of the state. Fifty percent amount in the construction will be provided by the Central government.
