CM Chouhan gifts scheme worth Rs 500 crore to Ujjain
Bhopal 12 January 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan gave a big gift to Ujjain today by approving the Mahakal Vikas Yojana costing Rs 500 crore. The Chief Minister has issued instructions to accelerate construction works. He said that special attention should also be paid to the people who have been displaced from this scheme including shopkeepers, small traders etc. He told to name various components of the scheme on the basis of the tradition and culture of Ujjain. The Chief Minister told to follow the experiments made in such construction works successfully in the country and abroad.
Chief Minister Chouhan directed to identify places for Annakshetra, Discourse Hall and Dharamshala under the scheme. He said that the old constructions should be removed as the construction work of the new discourse hall, dharamshala etc. goes ahead. The Chief Minister reviewed the construction works being done in Rudrasagar. Among those present on the occasion were Higher Education Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Kamal Patel, New and Renewable Energy, Environment Minister Hardeepsingh Dang, School Education and General Administration Minister Inder Singh Parmar, Ujjain-Alot MP Anil Ferozia, Dewas MP Mahendra Singh Sisodia, MLA Paras Jain, Bahadur Singh Chauhan and President of Mela Authority Makhan Singh.
Mahakal Vikas Yojana: A Glimpse
The area of Mahakaleshwar Temple will enhance 8 to 10 times in the present conditions with the implementation of the project under Mahakal Kshetra Vikas Yojana. During the presentation it was informed that in the first phase, Mahakal Plaza, Mahakal Corridor, Midway Zone, Mahakal Theme Park, Ghat and Deck Area, Nutan School Complex, Ganesh School Complex, Parking, Dharamshala, Discourse Hall and Annakshetra will be constructed. In the second phase, Maharajwada, Rudra Sagar renovation, Chhota Rudra Sagar Lake Front, beautification of Ramghat, widening of parking, tourism information centre, Harifatak bridge and foot over bridge on railway underpass and Rudra Sagar, development of Mahakal Dwar, Begambagh road and upgradation of Rudra Sagar Western road and Mahakal approach road will be undertaken. Under Mahakal Corridor, in the first component, a 200 m long road suitable for walking will be constructed. Route will be developed for Lotus Pond, Open Air Theater, Lakefront area, e-rickshaws and emergency vans. Under Midway Zone, puja samagri shops, food courts, lakeview restaurants, lakefront development, public facilities, monitoring and control centres with towers will be established. Under the Mahakal theme park, mural walls with stories of Mahakaleshwar, deck area for Sapta Sagar and shopping area under deck, seating arrangements will be developed. Similarly, car, bus and two-wheeler parking area will be developed near Triveni Museum. Dharamshala and Annakshetra are also proposed in this area. Connectivity of pedestrians is being developed through cobblestone road crossings.
Soil project and Culture Ghat in Phase II
Maharajwada campus will be developed under Soil Project Phase II. In this, the historical building will be reused in the form of heritage, a part of the building will be used as Kumbh Museum and premises will be merged with Mahakal temple premises by assimilating old relics. Cultural Haats reflecting local art and culture will be constructed. Under Ramghat Façade Treatment, the footpaths towards Ramghat will be rejuvenated, separate arrangements will be made for handcarts and hawkers. streets will be beautified using vastu kala elements and Simhastha theme based dynamic light shows at Ramghat. Similarly, under the Chhota Rudra Sagar Lakefront Vikas Yojana, recreation centre along with landscaping, Vedic garden and yoga centre, Mantradhwani Sthal and parking will be developed.
