Bhopal 13 January 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan convened a high-level meeting at his residence this morning in the case of deaths due to alcohol consumption in Morena district. Home Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra, Commercial Tax and Finance Minister Jagdish Deora, Chief Secretary Iqbal Singh Bains, Director General of Police Vivek Johri, Additional Chief Secretary Home Dr. Rajesh Rajaura, Principal Secretary Chief Minister Manish Rastogi and Principal Secretary Commercial Tax Deepali Rastogi was present.
Instructions to remove Morena Collector and SP, other districts should beware
Chief Minister Chouhan said that the incident of Morena is inhuman and painful. Campaign against adulteration is on in the state, yet this unfortunate incident occured. Chief Minister Chouhan issued instruction to remove Morena Collector and S.P.in the case. Instructions for suspension of the SDOP of the concerned area have also been issued. The Excise Officer has already been suspended. Chief Minister Chouhan said that this entire matter should be investigated and the report should be submitted. The Chief Minister said that such incidents should not be repeated. Other districts should also be aware. In such cases the Collector, S.P. will be held responsible. Action will also be taken against the guilty officers.
Campaign must continue
Chief Minister Chouhan said that I cannot remain a mute spectator to such incidents. Strict campaign against drug mafia should continue. Campaigns against illegal liquor should be launched all over the state. There should be total control over illegal liquor sale. Those who are engaged in this business should be destroyed.
CM seeks complete information about the incident, directs for probe into distillery
Chief Minister Chouhan sought detailed information about the incident from the Director General of Police. Instructions were also issued to investigate the manufacturing centre of the adulterated liquor consumed in the incident in Morena district and for action against the guilty persons, as well as the concerned distillery. The Chief Minister also gave instructions to make changes in the post of excise and police staff after a certain period of time.
