Bhopal 18 January 2021: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan called on Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Harshvardhan at his office in New Delhi and apprised him with the lack of health facilities in Bundelkhand region and demanded that hospitals should be opened in Chhatarpur and Damoh on the lines of AIIMS.

Also, he demanded opening of a medical college in Seoni district with a view to increasing medical facilities in the district. He informed that the Madhya Pradesh government has started proceedings in connection with opening of medical college and has also issued tenders in this regard. Chief Minister Chouhan hoped that the centre would extend help in this regard and urged for its approval.

Chief Minister Chouhan urged that instead of handing over the hospital built for the gas victims to ICMR, it should be entrusted to AIIMS in Bhopal, which will help enhance medical facilities and research in the field of medicine will continue under the supervision of AIIMS.
