Fourth day of Khajuraho dance fest begins with duet Odissi dance

Bhopal 23 February 2021: The fourth day of the 47th Khajuraho Dance Festival commenced on Tuesday with a duet Odissi dance performance based on ArdhanarishwarPallavi and Dashavatar by Vinod Kevin Bachchan and Vrinda Chaddha. In the same sequence, Anita Sharma and company presented Krishna Vandana, Sathriya group on the theme of Leela Purushottam and Leela Govindam and Priya Srivastava presented Kathak dance. The dance performances organized on Maa Jagadamba and Kandariya Mahadev premises are a treat to the eye. The audience at the Khajuraho dance festival is spellbound and spiritually enchanted by the mesmerizing performance.

Vinod Kevin Bachchan and Vrinda Chaddha Padam, who perform duet Odissi dance, are senior disciples of Ranjana Gauhar. Kevin has acquired extensive training in various regional folk styles of Odisha along with South Indian dance art Kuchipudi. Vrinda Chadha has acquired the national scholarship of the Ministry of Culture for Odissi Dance. Both the artists have performed at different forums in India and abroad in an amazing harmony of rhythm and physical poses.

Sushri Anita Sharma is a proven artist of Assam’s Nritya Satriya. She has acquired the Satriya dance training from Padma Nrityacharya Jatin Goswami. Apart from being an A grade Doordarshan artist, she has been awarded with Sangeet Natak Akademi Award 2014, Devadasi Award, Nritya Vidushi Samman etc.

Priya Shrivastava has captivated innumerable audiences in the country and abroad with her innovative style of Kathak dance. She has been honoured for bagging first position in the Akhil Bharatiya Kiran Mahotsav held in the city of Katni in the year 2011 and Gold Medal for best performance in the National Open Youth Festival. Priya Srivastava has performed in various prestigious ceremonies like Chakradhar ceremony, Rana Kumbha festival, Kalidas ceremony.

Art lovers witnessed the best classical dance spellbinding performances at the Khajuraho dance festival with total concentration. Apart from local people, art lovers and foreign tourists from all over the globe are reaching here every day.
