Farmers must use modern technique in farming

CM Chouhan takes part in Agriculture Seminar at Imliya Gram Panchayat in Vidisha District 

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that farmers should make use of modern techniques to make farming a profitable business. He said that horticulture crops were more effective in increasing profit. Chief Minister Shri Chouhan was addressing an agriculture seminar at Imliya Gram Panchayat in Vidisha district on Sunday. The Chief Minister also took part in the Krishi Gram Sansad. On the occasion Minister of State for Horticulture Suryaprakash Meena and MLA Kalyan Singh Thakur were also present.

Chief Minister Chouhan said at the seminar that farmers should get the soil in their fields exmained mandatorily. State government is providing free-of-cost soil health cards to the farmers. He said the farmers get information about the quality and quantity of fertiliser to be added to the soil in the fields through the soil health card. He said that the farmers should not set narwai on fire. Chouhans said that by setting narwai on fire, the organic friends of the fields get destroyed. The Chief Minister said that the state government is making rotavators available to the farmers on grant which is used to make hay.

Discussing financial empowerment of women in rural areas, the Chief Minister said that maximum number of self-help groups of women should be formed in rural areas. The state government will extend every possible assistance to the self-help groups. He said that Imliya Gram Panchayat should be made a model gram panchayat. The village should be freed of addictions through public participation.

He announced to launch the Nal-Jal Yojana in the village and also begin a high school from this session. The Chief Minister gifted farmer Prahlad Singh of Sonthia village with the keys of a tractor and also gifted kits to 10 selcted farmers.-WTN
