MoS Smt. Yadav Inaugurates “Samraddhi” Project 
Joint Initiative of UNFPA and SBI will Empower 3500 Girls 

Bhopal: Minister of State for Backward Class and Minority Welfare, Women-Child Development Smt. Lalita Yadav said that inspiration for change first comes from within. Smt. Yadav was inaugurating ‘Samraddhi’ project being started at the joint initiative of United Nations Population Funds and SBI at Chhatarpur.

Smt. Lalita Yadav further mentioned that ‘Samraddhi’ project has been designed for girls of 10 to 19 years of age to bring improvement in their health, social and economic status. Over 3500 girls of about 150 villages of Bijawar and Bada Malhara of Chhatarpur district- Madhya Pradesh will be benefitted under the first phase of the project started at the initiative of UNFPA for girls in 12 countries. This project will be implemented in other districts of the state in the next phase.

Country Head UNFPA Diego Palacios mentioned that ‘Samraddhi’ Project is being conducted successfully in Rajasthan and Odisha. He further mentioned that this project will make girls competent to select their future with right and responsibility.

Chairman SBI Foundation R. Narottam Reddy and Divisional Commissioner Dr. Manohar Agnani were present on the occasion.-WTN
