MARKFED will Establish Fertiliser Quality Testing Laboratory

Bhopal: M.P. State Co-operative Marketing Federation will establish laboratory to test quality of SSP and other fertilisers. Minister of State for Cooperative (Independent Charge) Vishwas Sarang told the Managing Director MARKFED to give a proposal to the department regarding establishment of laboratory. Sarang was reviewing the programmes conducted by the Federation at Federation’s Head Quarters today.

Chairman MARKFED Ramakant Bhargava, Principal Secretary Cooperative Ajit Kesri, Commissioner Cooperative and Registrar Cooperative Societies Kavindra Kiyawat and M.D. MARKFED Gyaneshwar Patil were present in the meeting. Sarang said that MARKFED should establish a laboratory for quality testing of SSP and other fertilisers with scientific objectivity. He directed the Principal Secretary to provide fund for establishment of laboratory. Moreover, M.D. Patil was told to give proposal in this regard at earliest. Delay caused by sending fertilisers’ sample outside for testing will be eliminated by establishing this laboratory.

Minister Sarang told the officials to strengthen the marketing societies. Moving ahead from wheat procurement activities, societies should be made strong to face competition from open market players. He further said that societies should undertake marketing of other commodities also beside fertiliser and agriculture equipments etc. Keeping in view the possibilities in domestic gas distribution, Sarang told to bring forward societies in this sector. Reviewing the programmes, he said that one should not hesitate initiating changes in old traditions obstructing good governance.-WTN
