National Seminar on river, water and environment protection today

Chief Minister Chouhan and Union Minister of State Anil Dave and others to participate 
Renowned environment experts to discuss in five sessions in seminar  

Bhopal: Drive for environment protection in Madhya Pradesh under leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is going on. On the eve of Narmada Seva Yatra continuing for 140 days, around 175 experts across the country will discuss on river, water and environment protection in a national seminar on May 8 in Academy of Administration, Bhopal. Future strategy will be decided with formation of action plan.

 Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Union Minister of State for Environment and Forests Anil Madhav Dave, justice of NGT Dilip Singh, Jal-Purush Rajendra Singh will be present in inaugural function at 10 am in the seminar being organised by EPCO at Academy of Administration. Short film on Narmada Seva Yatra will be demonstrated in the inaugural function.

 Water-environment experts, geologists, scientists, Yamuna Bio Diversity, Ganga Abhiyan, Botany, meteorology department, forestry, water conservation and rural development, pollution control board, forests officers, social scientists, retired bureaucrats, and representatives of environment protection organisations are participating in the seminar. They inclulded famous geologist Dr Shashank Shekhar (Delhi), Prof AK Gausain, Manu Bhatnagar, Dr SD Atri, Ajit Tyagi, Dr Sanjay Singh (Jhansi), Padmashri Bhalu Monde, Sunil Chaudhary of Bihar.

 The sessions will take place on 'Present situation of protection, conservation of Narmada and its tributaries: Challenges and solutions' (first session),  'Discussion and recommendations on action plan before protection of Narmada river by Narmada Seva Mission' (second session),  'Present situation and future action plan and strategy for resources of river and economic system based on Narmada river' (third session)

'Present institutional system of Narmada Seva Mission and State government in reference with Narmada river, suggestions on act and rules prevailing and role of society' (fourth session) and 'Environment protection in reference with Narmada river and food security- present situation, possible challenges, strategy and action plan'( fifth session). The sessions will be held between 11.30 and 1.30 pm.

Group head will give presentations, preparing group strategy after the sessions.

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will conclude the programme at 5.30 pm. Minister for forests, planning, economic and statistics Dr Gaurishankar Shejwar will propose vote of thanks.-WTN
