Buying support buoys equity markets

Mumbai May 9 (IANS) The Indian equity markets traded on a flat-to-positive note during the early morning trade session on Tuesday as healthy buying was witnessed in banking auto capital goods and consumer durables stocks.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) inched up by 15.20 points or 0.16 per cent to 9 329.25 points.

The barometer 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex) of the BSE traded higher by 53.39 points or 0.18 per cent. It opened at 29 977.50 points traded at 29 979.54 points (around 9.30 a.m.) from its previous close at 29 926.15 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 30 008.35 points and a low of 29 953.83 points during the intra-day trade so far.
