Multi-product SEZ on 1,113 hectare land in Pithampur

Bhopal: The Department of Commerce and Industry has developed a multi-product SEZ at Pithampur in Indore. Rs 4,187 crore capital has been invested in 49 industrial units in the SEZ through which nearly 18,500 persons have got employment.

Industrial units set up under SEZ have been given discount in taxes, fees and overheads applicable under various laws. To pace up the development of industrial units, the Single Agency Clearance System has been launched. For SEZ, the Audyogik Kendra Vikas Nigam, Indore has been appointed developer. Development Commissioner and Custom Office has been set up in SEZ. AKVN Indore has been declared Distribution Licensee by the state government for power supply in this region. NTPC has allotted 18 MW power in SEZ. Work is underway in the form of power distribution company by the corporation in Special Zone Pithampur, internal electrification and LT/HT Line in Special Economic Zone Pithampur. In this cheap and regular power at Rs 3.33 per unit HT Connection is being supplied in SEZ as compare to other industrial areas. The entire network and transformers are being run and maintained and the Regulatory Compliance Messrs PC India New Delhi effectively. So far deposit work has been completed after successful testing in 132 KV sub centres Pithampur SEZ Phase -2 by the Madhya Pradesh Power Transmission Company Limited. This will ensure unhindered power supply to all SEZ industries along with other industries to be set up in the future.

Diamond Park Rangvasa

A diamond park is being developed on nearly 124 hectare land on Rau-Pithampur road in Indore. Work is being speeded up to prepare a detailed project of the development of general industrial area, commercial and residential area in the diamond park.-WTN
