Over 32 Thousand Quintal Mahua Phool Procured in State

More than Rs 9 crore paid to Collectors 

Bhopal: Minor Forests Produce Federation has made payment of Rs 9 crore 68 lakh 17 thousand 380 to collectors for procurement of 32 thousand 272 quintal Mahua Phool so far in the state. After announcement by Chief Minister Chouhan to increase minimum support price of Mahua Phool and Gulli collection more than double, collectors are reaching collection centres in big number.

Federation chairman Mahesh Kori informed that procurement is continuing at 1189 Mahua collection centres through 60 district minor forests produce unions. The highest collection has been made by Shahdol and Umaria disrtict forests produce union.

Tendu leave plucking by May 31: Over 1 lakh 72 thousand standard sacks collected
Mahesh Kori informed that plucking of Tendu leaves is going on most of the state and it will continue by May 31. So far one lakh 72 thousand 110 standard sack Tendu leave have been plucked. The target has been set to pluck 22 lakh standard sack Tendu leave collection this year. Because of bumper production of Tendu leaves and higher cost received in advanced tender this year, 33 lakh collectors expect remuneration and dividends.

Minor Forests Produce Federation has appealed collectors that they should not pay heed on brokers. They should get fair price of forests produce at fixed procurement centers.-WTN
