Damoh to Balakot Road Costing Rs. 45 Crore will be Constructed

Bhopal: Damoh to Balakot road will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 45 crore. The road will pave a way for speedy development of the area. Minister for Finance Jayant Mallayya was addressing the bhoomi poojan programme of community bhavan at Balakot of district Damoh today.

Mallayya mentioned that construction of houses for needy persons is being carried out speedily under the Pradhanmantri Awas Yojana. Under the scheme, 27 houses are being constructed in Balakot. He told farmers that an action plan has been prepared by the state government to double the farmers’ income. Moreover, he told the farmers to take crop of Moong (Green Gram) and Urad (Black Gram) in the form of third crop. Mallayya performed bhoomi poojan of community halls to be constructed at cost of Rs. 10 lakh each in village Amata and Chourai also. Minister Mallayya inspected Balakot reservoir today. This reservoir will facilitate irrigation on 600 acre land. The reservoir work has been completed. Mallayya told the farmers to use sprinkler system for irrigation. He informed about Satdharu Irrigation Scheme of Damoh in the programme. This scheme will provide irrigation facility to 40 villages of Damoh block and will provide water under group potable water scheme to 100 villages.-WTN
