Over 24 Thousand U.I.D. Cards Issued to Disabled Persons in State

100 Percent U.I.D. Cards Issued in Datia Districts  

Bhopal: A total of 24 thousand 106 U.I.D. Cards have been issued to disabled persons in the state till date. In Datia district, 100 percent i.e. 6484 U.I.D. cards whereas 4159 card in Katni district have been issued.

A unique I.D. card project has been started by the Union Ministry for Social Justice and Empowerment in order to provide permanent disability certificate to each disabled person. A U.I.D. portal www.swavlambancard.gov.in has been developed by the Union Government in this regard. Chief Medical Officer or Civil Surgeon of each district has been authorised for generation of U.I.D. card and to issue new disability certificate. Samagra I.D. and Adhaar card have also been included in this card.

Directives have been issued by the Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department to all the District Collectors, Chief Executive Officers to Chief Medical and Health Officers, Civil Surgeons and Joint/deputy Directors-Social Justice and Disabled Welfare Department for generating cards of all the disabled persons till June 30.-WTN
