CS reviews preparations of July 2nd tree plantation programme

Bhopal: Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh today reviewed the preparations for the tree plantation programme on both the banks of Narmada on July 2. It was told that saplings will be made available at district level though nurseries by the Forest Department for the tree plantation programme. Collector will coordinate the activities related to the tree plantation at the district level. Saplings would be planted along the banks of the Narmada besides the villages and cities near the river, Nagar Panchayats, Gram Panchayat Bhavan, Schools, Colleges, Hospitals, Veterinaries, Anganwadis and all government premises. The Chief Secretary instructed to ensure participation of all government officers- employees in the tree plantation programme.

It was told that participation of school and college students and social and non-government organizations would be encouraged. Among those present at the meeting were Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development R.S Julaniya, Additional Chief Secretary Forest Deepak Khandekar, Additional Chief Secretary Energy Iqbal Singh Bains and officials of all departments.-WTN
