Tilak Baba Generating Awareness to Make Narmada Pollution Free

Bhopal: An awareness to make Narmada pollution free is being generated by Tilak Baba in Narmada Seva Yatra. Baba is accompanying yatra since last two months. His Full name is Kamal Giri Mahant. Baba is linked to the yatra since March 4.
Tilak Baba is related to Satmata Mandir of Maheshwar. He always reaches places few hours before the yatra riding his two wheeler. He applies tilaks to the people.

He has been called Tilak Baba as he applies tilak to all the people. Applying chandan-keshar tilak on the forehead of people, he encourages people for plantation on the area situated on the banks of Narmada River. In village Bhejri of Janpad Panchayat Pushparajgarh, Baba reached before the yatra and applied tilaks to elders, youths and children.

Baba says that a unique effort initiated by the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for conservation of Narmada river is praiseworthy. He always appreciates Narmada seva yatra. He says that people have faith in Mokshdayini Maa Narmada.

Collective efforts of Sants, Society and the Government has generated public awareness on large scale and people’s attention is attracted towards other rivers beside Narmada. Narmada ghats have become more clean now. Devotees are now perform deepdaan in bowls of leaves and other material which do not pollute Narmada river. They do not release deeps in Narmada but now keep them on the shores. Moreover, people immerse poojan material in kunds made on the banks of river Narmada to save the river from pollution. A scheme has been prepared for plantation on large scale on the banks of Narmada which will fetch good results in future. Flow will become strong and more water will be available in Narmada river.-WTN
