Once tigerless Panna makes achievement

Bhopal: Once tigerless Panna had triggered discussion in the world of wildlife by its successful tiger restoration in the year 2009. It has created history again.
Tigress 213-22, third generation of tigress T-2, which was brought from Kanha in October 2010, was seen with two cubs in Sarbhanga (located in Chitrakoot on Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh border) forests. The birth of two cubs is important because the tigress gave birth to the cubs establishing territory 125 km away from safe territory of Panna Tiger Reserve. Founder member of Tiger Restoration team and member secretary of State Bio Diversity Board R Shriniwas Murthy said that the starting of third generation of tiger restoration is very enjoying and exciting.

Hardwork of Forests Department brings fruit

Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (wildlife) Jitendra Agrawal said that the tiger is safe only because of constant monitoring by teams of Panna Tiger Reserve and Satna for months. The tigress went out from Panna with a tiger in January 2016. Because of collar in her neck, the team followed her. Staff was changing in every three months but two elephants and one Mahavat worked constantly. Tiger family has expanded outside Panna Tiger Reserve is quite encouraging.-WTN
