Bhopal: All the officers-employees from top to bottom level of all the government departments will take part mandatorily in 6 crore sapling plantation activity to be held on both the banks of Narmada river and its basin area on July 2. The officers-employees of different departments who will be assigned responsibility of witness and steward at plantation site as per the fixed criteria of Guinness Book of World Record would also be able to undertake plantation .
Chief Secretary Basant Pratap Singh has issued directives in this regard to Divisional Commissioners of Indore, Jabalpur, Bhopal and Shahdol besides Collectors of Indore, Khandwa, Badwani, Khargone, Dhar, Alirajpur, Seoni, Narsinghpur, Anuppur, Dewas, Dindori, Mandla, Jabalpur, Katni, Balaghat, Damoh, Harda, Hoshangabad, Raisen, Betul, Chhindwara and Sehore. It was mentioned in the directives that outline of action plan and information should be forwarded in a set format to the Additional Chief Secretary Planning, Economics and Statistics till May 29.
CS Singh mentioned that the concerned officers should prepare an outline in advance to fix the places for officers-employees of various departments for plantation. Efforts should be made to keep the place of plantation near their work places. Moreover, officers were told to ensure transport arrangements for officers-employees to reach plantation site.
Public Representatives will Also Undertake Plantation
Participation of Ministers, MPS, MLAs, Public Representatives, all the voluntary organizations at village level, Mahila Mandal and Common Men will be ensured at large scale.-WTN
