Aim to Bring State on Top in Rural Development with Cooperation of All

Bhopal: Chief Minister Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the state government is committed for proper arrangements of basic necessities like Roti, Kapda, Makaan, education and medicinesfor people in the birth centenary year of Pt. Deendayal Upadhyaya. Chouhan was addressing at the conclusion of ‘Gramoday to Bharat Uday’ campaign at village Ahmedpur in Sehore, today.

Chouhan mentioned that cooperation from all is must to bring Madhya Pradesh on top in the field of rural development. Sarpanchs-Panchs should use their power and discharge their duties sincerely and judiciously. Chouhan administered pledge to the villagers that they will pay special attention towards sanitation in their villages and public welfare works like plantation.

CM Chouhan said that 25 lakh 70 thousand applications concerning personal demands and 3 lakh 33 thousand applications related to community works have been received in gram sansads organized in 22 thousand 80 gram panchayats. The applications are being examined gram panchayat wise. Officers visiting each gram panchayat from June 1 to 10 will inform villagers about the actions taken on their applications. Minister in-charge of Districts will conduct a surprise inspection from June 5 to verify the action. Chouhan further mentioned that amount is being provided to 7 lakh eligible poor villagers for house construction in the current year. A target has been set to ensure that no eligible person remains houseless till 2022. Amount for house construction will be deposited directly in the bank accounts of the beneficiaries.

Additional sum of Rs. 5 Thousand to House beneficiaries for Planting 5 saplings
Chief Minister Chouhan made an announcement that an additional amount of Rs. 5 thousand will be paid to the beneficiaries constructing houses under various housing schemes if they plant 5 saplings of fruit bearing trees.

Referring to the development works being carried out in rural areas, Chouhan said that gram panchayats have been entrusted with powers to carry out small works. Right for repair works under tap water schemes at a cost of Rs. 2 lakh have been given to the gram panchayats. Moreover , right to write a CR of secretaries have been given to the sarpanchs. He clarified that that on one hand sarpanchs performing their best will be awarded by the state government and on the other stern action will be taken against panch-sarpanch muddling in the schemes.

Chouhan further mentioned that gram panchaytas power for undisputed mutation has been decentralized to the gram panchayats.

7 Thousand Gram Panchayats, 46 Janpad and 6 Districts Declared O.D.F.
Chouhan said that 7 thousand gram panchayats, 46 janpad panchayats and 6 districts have been declared open defecation free till today under the Swachcha Bharat Mission. Keeping in view the active role of gram panchayats and awareness among the villagers, target has been set to make entire Madhya Pradesh open defecation free till Gandhi Jayanti this year. Chouhan declared Sehore, Bhopal, Burhanpur, Agar-Malwa, Neemuch and Khargone open defecation free districts.
Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Gopal Bahrgava said that Gramoday to Bharat Uday campaign started from April 15 is concluding on May 31.

The Chief Minister Chouhan after overall consideration will take a decision on beneficiaries oriented schemes, public programmes through gram sabhas and gram sansads to be held in all the 52 thousand villages. Common men, villagers are being added in the beneficiaries’ list and government schemes under the ‘Gramoday to Bharat Uday’ campaign in order to provide them the benefits of the schemes. Bhargava mentioned that no problem related to roti, kapda and makaan will prevail in the state. House will be provided to each poor person under the Pradhamantri Awas Yojana. Nobody will become houseless/landless in the state.

He mentioned that campaign will prove to be a milestone. Bhargava further mentioned that the state government is committed for protection of people’s interest.

Vote of thanks was proposed by the Minister for Public Works and Minister in-charge district Sehore Rampal Singh. He mentioned that he was skeptical about the programme due to heavy rains last night but CM Chouhan instructed to hold the programme at any cost. CM Chouhan, Shri Bhargava and Singh also planted saplings in the mandi campus. Chouhan distributed cheques among the beneficiaries of various schemes in the programme.

At the outset, Collector Sudam Khade informed that 32 thousand 310 applications of various demands have been received in Sehore district during the campaign. Out of these, action is being taken on 20 thousand 606 applications after approval. Moreover, arrangements have been made at gram panchayat level to apprise villagers about action on their applications.

MLA Sudesh Rai, President Jila Panchayat Smt. Sandhya Maretha, Additional Chief Secretary R.S. Julaniya and villagers in large number were present in the programme.-WTN
