Favourable policies result in 87,000 MSMEs in State

Bhopal: State government has made effective efforts to promote Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Madhya Pradesh. With the help of favourable policies, 87 thousand MSMEs have been registered in the last financial year 2016-17. Capital investment of Rs 9,500 crore has been made in setting up these units. At least 3 lakh 50 thousand youths have got jobs through these enterprises.

In order to make MSMEs competitive, a promotion scheme 2014 has been implemented in state. Through this policy, facilities like capital and interest grant, entry tax, VAT and CST reimbursement, power cess and mandi cess has been made available to young entrepreneurs. Apart from this, a provision of 50 per cent grant with a limit of Rs 25 lakh on the expenses made by MSMEs in waste management system, pollution control devices, health protection standards etc. has been made.

Madhya Pradesh State Industrial Land and Building Management Rules 2015 has been simplified to ensure availability of government land for MSME. A discount of 95 per cent has been given on allocation charge. Industrial group has been provided with the rights of maintenance in the industrial area.

The government has reserved more than 15 thousand hectare developed land for MSME in 250 industrial areas of the state. About 25 thousand government land has been marked for development in industrial areas.-WTN
