Agriculture Minister Bisen takes part in last rites of Khairi blast victims

Bhopal: Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Gaurishankar Bisen today attended the funeral of Khairi blast victims at Bharveli village and lent his shoulder to carry the dead bodies. Agriculture Minister Bisen met the relatives of the deceased and expressed his condolences. He said the affected families will be given all possible assistance.
The arrangement of wood and kanda (cow dung) for the last rites of the deceased was made by the district administration. District Panchayat president Smt. Rekha Bisen assured take up the entire expenses incurred on the 13th day rituals of the deceased. MP Bodhsingh Bhagat said that the process of adoption will be open to well-to-do persons for children of the deceased who have been orphaned and have no one to take care of them. Collector Bharat Yadav told that as assistance fund of Rs 4 lakhs each will be made available to the families of all the deceased the provisions of under Revenue Book Circular 6-4. Efforts will be made to get them the claims of insurance, in case they had insurance with any scheme. The national family assistance scheme cases of the families of the deceased will also be prepared.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has announced to sanction Rs 2 lakhs each to the families of the deceased through Mukhya Mantri Swechchanudan and Rs 50,000 each to the injured victims of Khairi incident. Agriculture Minister Shri Bisen has made Rs 10,000 available on his behalf for the funeral of the deceased. Similarly, District Red Cross Society has sanctioned an assistance of Rs 20,000 each to the families of the deceased and Rs 5,000 each to the injured victims. Gram Panchayat has also sanctioned ex-gratia of Rs 5,000 each to the families of the deceased.
Upper Collector Shiv Govind Markam has been entrusted with the responsibility of magisterial probe into the incident. A case has been registered under Section 304 of IPC ad Explosives Act against the Fireworks factory in the Khairi incident. Superintendent of Police Amit Sanghi has announced a reward of Rs 10,000 on the arrest of the absconding factory owner.
District administration is all set to conduct a socio-economic survey of every affected family so as to ensure that the affected families get maximum benefits of government schemes. Efforts are being made to prepare a work plan for assistance after a meeting of social and voluntary organizations for education and better future of the children of the affected families.
About 25 persons died and six were injured in an explosion at a fireworks factory in Khairi village, 5 kms away from Balaghat district headquarters on June 7, 2017 at 3 pm. The injured victims are being treated in Balaghat and Bhilai hospitals. The victims admitted in District Hospital Balaghat are out of danger. District administration has sent three of the injured victims to Bhilai for treatment and has also sent Balaghat tehsildar also to make necessary arrangements for the injured persons. Balaghat district administration is in constant contact with Durg-Bhilai district administration.

Jabalpur Division Commissioner Gulshan Bamra today inspected the spot where the accident took place at the fireworks factory in Khairi village near Balaghat. He also met the injured victims being treated at the District Hospital.-WTN
