Non-FAQ commodities to be sold in auction with open announcement on highest rate with farmer's consent
Detail directives issued by State Agriculture Marketing Board

Bhopal: In order to avail transparent, fair and competitive market prices to farmers on their produce in the state, State Agriculture Marketing Board has issued directives. As per the directives, sale of the agriculture commodities having fair average quality (FAQ) won't be made on the price lower than Minimum Support Price (MSP), which have been notified and their minimum support prices have been announced by the centre government and procurement is being made in mandi samitis through centre and state government agencies.

Directives further say that if the support price of the notified agriculture commodity has been announced but their procurement has not begun through agencies of centre/state in mandi samiti on support price, sale will be made in open announcement auction on the highest rate as per the provisions of sub sections of
Krishi Upaj Mandi Samiti only after farmer's consent.

It has been made clear in the directives issued to mandis, mandi secretary will inform district collector with a proposal, if price lower than the support price continues for more than two days in mandi for notified agriculture commodities.

Along with this, the secretary will convey to the government agencies for arrangement for sale of notified agriculture commodities on the support price and ensure speedy action with personally contacting. Mandi secretary will be responsible to inform regional offices with all his action daily. In-charge of regional offices will have responsibility that they arrange procurement by contacting concerned district collector. Also, he will have to submit regular report to Head Office of mandi board. This process will be constant and continuous.

Keeping the sample (as per directives issued for procurement on the support price by the state government) of the agriculture commodities, which are notified and their support price have been announced and procurement is going on by centre and state government agencies but they are non-FAQ (non-fair average quality), sale will be made in auction through open announcement and will complete only after farmer's consent.

Mandi board will ensure implementation of the directives with immediate effect.-WTN
