Intensive Check Up of About One Crore Children will be Carried Out
Bhopal: In order to bring down the child mortality rate in state, a ‘Dastak Abhiyan’ will be conducted jointly by Public Health and Family Welfare department and Women-Child Development department form June 15 to July 15, 2017. Intensive check-up of about One crore children between 0 to 5 years of age will be carried out and treatment will be provided during the campaign. Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan will inaugurate the campaign at a state level programme from Ratlam on June 15.
Under the Dastak campaign anemia check-up of children between 0 to 5 years of age, identification of severely malnourished children between 6 months to 5 years of age, vitamin ’A’ mixture to children of 9 months to 5 years of age, identification of children suffering from diarrhea, pneumonia and other diseases since birth will be carried out besides free treatment. Moreover transportation facility will also be provided under the drive. ORS packets and zinc tablets will be distributed among the children of upto 5 years of age to control diarrhea. Also information on swachchta abhiyan, usefulness of mother’s milk and importance of iodized salt will be given to the families under the ‘Dastak’ abhiyan.-WTN
