USIBC launches India task force on civil aviation

New Delhi June 26 (IANS) The US-India Business Council (USIBC) on Monday launched a task force on civil aviation that will focus on identifying opportunities for implementation based on India s National Civil Aviation Policy (NCAP).

According to the business advocacy organisation its India Task Force aims to promote bilateral dialogue by being the voice of industry partnering with governments to organise trade missions and advocating for regulatory changes on behalf of its members.

The Task Force will engage with various stakeholders to promote international best practices and address potential hurdles that surface as American and Indian companies deepen engagement in India s burgeoning civil aviation market the USIBC said in a statement.

The USIBC said that Palash Roy Chowdhury Managing Director-India Pratt & Whitney has been chosen as the chairman of its India Task Force on Civil Aviation and Amber Dubey Partner and Head of Aerospace and Defense KPMG in India as the co-chairman.

Commenting on the launch USIBC President Mukesh Aghi said: We are launching this task force to aid implementation of India s civil aviation policy.

Our member companies are committed to the success of the government s flagship programmes such as the regional connectivity scheme and Make In India and bringing the best in technology in related areas such as airport infrastructure and security MROs (Maintenance Repair and Overhaul) and skill development.
