Somesh Goyal is Himachal s new top cop
Shimla July 5 (IANS) Somesh Goyal was on Wednesday appointed the new Director General of Police of Himachal Pradesh a senior official said.
His processor Sanjay Kumar has been appointed the National Disaster Relief Force Director General and he assumed the charge in New Delhi on Tuesday.
A 1984 Indian Police Service (IPS) officer Goyal was previously posted as Director General of Prisons.
Goyal an avid wildlife photographer and bird-watcher has also been on deputation with the Sashastra Seema Bal.
His seniority was overlooked when Kumar was made the Director General in July 2013.
