April 26 (WTN)- Gautam Gambhir as captain of Kolkata Knight Riders gave two IPL titles to KKR. But, in 2018 edition of IPL, as Delhi Daredevil’ s skipper, his 85 runs in five innings at an average of 17 seems to have ended his career not only in IPL but for cricket also.
23 year old Shrevas Iyer is new skipper of Delhi Daredevil after Gambhir relinquished the captaincy yesterday.
Gambhir was bought for Rs. 2.8 crore by Daredevils, considering his previous record. As of now, Delhi Daredevil languishes on bottom of IPL 2018 table.
Gautam Gambhir has contributed many match winning performances for team India. He has been in limelight not only for cricketing talent but also for his philanthropic personality.
Gambhir had pledged to bear the educational expenses of the children of 25 CRPF personnel killed by Maoists in Chhattisgarh. Gautam Gambhir’s Foundation started a free community kitchen in in Delhi. He had contributed to victims when a flyover had collapsed in a busy Kolkata street. He had contributed to treatment of 1998 Asian Games gold medalist Dingko Singh, who was suffering from cancer.
