Meesha Shafi - Ali Zafar sexual harassment case, truth yet to come out

Meesha Shafi posted a tweet against Ali Zafar, had sexually harassed her on more than one occasion. Her tweet with #MeToo got wide accepatibility and sparked Pakistan’s #MeToo moment. Ali has worked in several Bollywood films including Mere Brother Ki Dulhan, Chashme Baddoor, Tere Bin Laden and Dear Zindagi.
Ali Zafar has denied all allegations and confirms that he will be taking this allegation through the courts of law. Meesha’s lawyer has confirms a legal notice for defamation has been received
Pakistani model-singer Aqsa Ali came in support of Ali Zafar. "It took me by surprise because apparently both of them are friends and they know each other from their university days. I myself am from the fashion industry and I have been working as a model. Now I am following my passion to be a singer as well. I don t think these allegations make any sense there are so many loopholes in them. I am all in for women empowerment but at least things should make some sense " Aqsa told IANS. She described Ali as a genuine person who treats people around him nicely. It is not only Aqsa but some other female colleagues have defended Ali Zafar.
Sexual harassment cases should be taken seriously by law, media and society. While every woman should be protected, also false allegations should also be dealt with seriously.
What will happen in Meesha – Ali Zafar case, time will tell. The truth was yet to come out.
This is a case of a woman and a man that are empowered, well respected and colleagues themselves.
