Scarlett Johansson clarifies about her dress in Met Gala

May 9 (WTN)- Scarlett Johansson decision to wear Marchesa to the Met Gala the dress was met with criticism by some because the fashion house is led by Georgina Chapman, Harvey Weinstein's now estranged wife.
It is the first time a Marchesa Dress has been worn at a high profile event since the Weinstein scandal.
The “Avengers” star explained that she wore Marchesa because she wanted to show her support for the two women behind the brand, Chapman and co-founder Keren Craig.
“I wore Marchesa because their clothes make women feel confident and beautiful, and it is my pleasure to support a brand created by two incredibly talented and important female designers,” Johansson said in a statement.
