May 24 (WTN) - Aamir Khan and director Rajkumar Hirani are considered very good companions. Hirani had proposed to Aamir Khan to play the role of Sanjay Dutt's father Sunil Dutt in Sanju, but Aamir denied it.
Aamir told Hirani that he can play the role of only Sanjay Dutt in this film, but Hirani had already signed up Ranbir Kapoor for the role of Sanjay. When Aamir was asked about the memories related to Sunil Dutt, he said, "Sunil Dutt was truly a dignified man. I remember when we had spent one night outside during the 1993 riots".
Aamir said, "When the Mumbai riots took place in 1993, a delegation of the Film Industry had reached the Chief Minister's office and demanded to call the army. CM was asked to stop the riots in any way. After this, we spent all night under a statue of Mahatma Gandhi in the protest against the riots. Sunil Dutt, Yash Chopra, Johnny Walker and a Producer were with me. This was the first night of this protest".
Aamir said, “That night was really memorable. I have heard a lot of experiences of Yash Chopra and Sunil Dutt's career. CM took action by the next evening and the situation became normal”.
Aamir Khan has completed 30 years of his career on April 29, 2018. In 1988, his debut film was "Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak". At this time Aamir is busy in shooting for the "Thugs of Hindustan".
'Sanju' will be release on June 29. The role of Sunil Dutt is played by Paresh Rawal, Manisha Koirala in the role of Nargis, Dia Mirza will be seen in the role of Manyata Dutt and Sonam Kapoor in the role of Tina Munim.
