Motherhood for New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern

June 21 (WTN)- Jacinda Ardern, the Prime Minister of New Zealand is expected to give birth to her first child while in serving as a PM. Ardern, would be the first world leader in almost 3 decades to give birth while in office.

Jacinda Ardern has served as the 40th Prime Minister of New Zealand since 26 October 2017, and Leader of the Labour Party since 1 August 2017. She has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Mount Albert electorate since 8 March 2017. She was first elected to parliament as a list MP at the 2008 general election.

fun fact: if Ardern's baby is born today it will share a birthday with Benazir Bhutto (the only other prime minister to give birth while in office!)
